CELIA & JAKE // BLACK TIE LEDGES WEDDING
FORMAL BLACK TIE WEDDING AT THE LEDGES OF HUNTSVILLE // WEDDING PLANNERS IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA
When Celia and Jake first booked us to plan their wedding at The Ledges, they knew they wanted wedding planners that could get inside their heads and not only see but comprehend the vision for their day. Celia had several inspirational images she shared with us and we were able to take those images and pull together aspects to create a wedding day to embody that while making it unique to her and Jake.
From the onset, there was a great deal of trust placed in us to make the wedding planning process seamless experience. Between regular planning calls and getting vendors booked quickly, it allowed Celia and Jake to relax and enjoy the months leading up to wedding day.
Their day was special for so many reasons, one of which we will get into later. They had an amazing turn out and the photos were phenomenal.
A Few of Our Favorite Wedding Details
Celia wanted a little something beyond photos to capture their day in an extra special way, so we brought in a live painter. The artist created a masterpiece by putting Celia & Jakes first dance as husband and wife, to canvas. With guests gathered and celebrating around them - this was a once in a lifetime moment frozen in time.
You know we love nice furniture at a wedding - at any event really! We took this wedding as an opportunity to create an inviting seating area for guests that was eye catching but not obtrusive. We worked with our friends at AG Lighting & Events to bring in furnishings that really elevated the space and the overall vibe.
The music did not disappoint! Emerald Empire Band really brought an extra flare to the evening and had everyone on the dance floor and singing along. Including us! The band had eight members from horns to guitars. They opened up the night with their rendition of Valerie by Amy Winehouse which always seems to be an unexpected crowd favorite. High energy was the name of the game at this wedding!
There was one "non-negotiable" that Celia brought to the table when we first started planning her wedding - the cake! She was very clear that she was obsessed with Megan Markle & Prince Harry's cake display so we put our creativity to work to re-create that as closely as possible. What was her reaction to seeing the pieces we brought together? Tears of pure happiness! She was elated at the finished product and said it was just as she had imagined and felt like royalty in her own right.
There were even a couple of blooper moments too! Trying to help Jake get Celia on his back for a photo on the golf course was the first. You don't event want to know what that entailed with all of that wedding dress going on! The second moment was during their cake cutting when the FAMILY HEIRLOOM cake serving set broke in the middle of cutting the cake. yep - that actually happened and you'll see that Kodak moment captured by Munoz Photography in the gallery below. It was priceless!
With all of the joy, there was also a hint of sadness under the surface. Just weeks before the wedding, Celia found out that her beloved mother was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. Her mom was such a trooper the whole day and looked like the healthiest woman on the planet. This gave Celia the opportunity to put her mothers illness out of her mind for this one day and simply enjoy all of the special mother-daughter moments with her.
We were so proud to bring Celia's dream day to life and allow her to focus on the joy of the experience.
